On September 9, 2019 in Tashkent, within the framework of the International Textile Days, the 8th meeting of the Asian Cotton Research and Development Network meeting started its work.
The meeting was organized under the auspices of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and with the assistance of Iteca Exhibitions International Company, as well as the UZTEKSTILPROM Association, the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by a group of young specialists of the JSC Pakhtasanoat Ilmiy Markazi and headed by its Director General Mr. Tokhir Kuliev.
Experts from 8 countries informed the meeting participants about the most advanced successes in the industry, pointed out the theoretical and practical importance of growing cotton with the least environmental damage, the importance of developing bio-cotton, seed production and selection, as well as the use of modern irrigation systems.
Mr. Tokhir Kuliev has presented report “Cotton cultivation in Uzbekistan, research and development”.
Mr. Alexander Ahmedov, Chief Specialist of the Department of External Relations and Marketing made presentation on “New scientific solutions to improve cotton cleaning technology”.
It should be noted that the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) began operations in September of 1939 in the United States. Today, Uzbekistan is also a part of the ICAC along with such countries as Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, India, Kazakhstan, Kenya, the Republic of Korea, Russia, USA, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, etc. This Committee conducts its activities as the international office for promotion of cotton and cotton products.
On September 11, 2019 the 8th meeting of the Asian Cotton Research and Development Network has completed its work.
